Norman Gould Art & Photography. All created objects come about through intent. When viewing art it is important to understand the intent of the artist. I realize that I am an inextricable result of my environmental programming, from earliest childhood through the choices I have made in life. I have examined the panoply of artists throughout history and have my own ideas as to what is important and beautiful, worthy of expression as art.

In creating this art I must deal with my programmed "perfectionism". In general my attempts to create as an isolated artist meet with frustration and procrastination. There are too many choices and options and I find myself stuck in indecisive dissatisfaction. I desire my art to be important and great, and reflective of the human condition.

Of course this is my idea of what is great. What I wish to communicate through my art is mainly influenced by an out of body "near death" experience in my youth. Since then, much of what is supposed to be important seems mostly ironic in magnetic polar realization.
